2025 Director Nomination Process

Deadline for Nominations: 15th November 2025

At the 4th May Special General Meeting, the membership voted on 2 Resolutions:

Resolution 1: Approval of Board Restructure

That the members approve the proposed restructure of the Board of Directors of PickleballENGLAND, whereby:
– A new Regional Committee will be established, comprising the 7 Regional Directors;
– One of the Regional Directors will be nominated by the Regional Committee to serve on the Board of Directors;
– The Board of Directors will comprise 6 National Directors, each selected for their relevant skills and experience, and 1 Regional Director nominated by the Regional Committee;
– The necessary amendments to the Articles of Association to give effect to this restructure will be drafted and circulated to members in due course for separate approval.

Resolution 2: Extension of Deadline for 2025 AGM

That the members approve the extension of the deadline for holding the Annual General Meeting (AGM) in 2025 by a period of six (6) months, beyond the time limit currently specified in the Articles of Association, to allow adequate time to:
– Finalise the details of the proposed Board restructure; and
– Prepare the corresponding amendments to the Articles of Association for formal member approval.

These resolutions were passed unanimously.

We are now ready to request nominations for the restructured Board of Directors.  We are recommending that we retain the current National Directors (Karen – co-founder & National Director; Martin who was elected in 2024 and James who was a Board appointment) for continuity reasons.  One Board member will be nominated by the Regional Steering Committee to serve on the Board.  This leaves 3 Director positions that we request nominations for and hold elections for.

At the same time, we are also seeking nominations for four (4) Regional Director roles – listed below.

This is in line with our Articles of Association at each Annual General Meeting one-third of the Members of the board (excluding independent Members of the Board) or if their number is not three, or a multiple of three, then the number nearest one-third shall retire from office.

Retiring Members are eligible for re-election.

To continue with the development of PickleballENGLAND the Board needs members with the appropriate skills, board experience and knowledge to operate successfully at strategic level.
