2024 English Nationals
What a fantastic event!
Over 1,100 competitors at the English Nationals event, competing for our gorgeous medals.
All 4 days of play were pretty much on schedule. Testament to players being in the right place at the right time and our volunteers keeping an eye on things.
Sportsbeat came in again and managed our social media, sent stories to the press/media around the country featuring as many players as they could.
Shoot on Sight did a fabulous job with the livestream and Paul Currie returned to photograph players. You can see all the photos in our Google Drive here.
We had BBC Breakfast and BBC NW visit as well as Sky News.
We are thrilled to confirm that Skechers Pickleball are returning as title sponsors of the English Nationals.
The X40 will once again be the official ball of the English Nationals. The perfect ball for the Bolton Arena surface. Franklin nets are also the official net of the English Nationals.

Registration Eligibility
Remember that only English born or England resident players registered with PbE can play in the Nationals. This is because we are looking to crown the National champion in England at each age group and rating. This is in line with sporting norms. The English OPEN in contrast is open to everyone from all countries. In fact we celebrate the number of countries represented.
The only caveat to that is the wheelchair event where we have agreed with Pickleball Scotland that it is in the interest of growing this category that we don’t constrain registration.
Since flags have become an emotive issue recently, the tournament committee has decided that no flags will be allowed at the English Nationals.
We are just implementing our Transgender policy and this will be followed for the English Nationals. This has resulted in the Men’s Doubles being renamed to Men+ to include ALL players that were not born female. More information can be found here.
