PickleballENGLAND is incredibly grateful to the IPTPA for helping us train so many IPTPA Level 1 and 2 coaches since we were formed in 2019. Sam Basford & Rob Williams went on to become Master Teaching Professionals for IPTPA. There are over 100 fully paid up members of the IPTPA in this country and even more that trained but decided not to keep their membership up.
At the beginning of 2023 PbE felt it was time for us to have our own curriculum. Something that was aligned with coaching requirements in the UK. PbE secured Sam and Rob’s services to create the curriculum. The pilot phase for the Club Instructor (L1) was completed in April and we are now rolling it out across the country. More dates will be added in the coming weeks.
Please note that PLC is our foundation course and all attendees for L1 need to attend prior to L1. This ensures that everyone starts L1 with the same knowledge.
Please note that the Club Instructor and other levels will require evidence of Safeguarding training, First Aid training and enhanced DBS clearance to receive full certification.
Pickleball England can do Enhanced DBS Checks for coaches. Simply go to:- https://www.carecheck.co.uk. Where you need to put a company name/reference, place PICKLEBALLENGLAND but leave organisation code blank. When you have completed your submission, pbE will receive a notification that an application needs to be reviewed. We will then arrange a zoom call to verify your ID, take details down, etc for processing. Within a few days you will be notified the outcome. The cost is paid directly to Care Check.

Club Instructor (L1)
The purpose of this training is to give pickleball leaders the basic skills and knowledge to have confidence to instruct new and improving players whilst learning in a safe and enjoyable environment.
