County Representatives

At our 2020 AGM, members voted to appoint the first group of County Representatives.

County Representatives present an opportunity for Pickleball England to increase focus at the local grass roots level promoting pickleball within their county.

Role Summary:

•Be a passionate advocate of the game and Pickleball England in your county.

•Respond to players and clubs seeking information in a timely manner so that it reflects well on you and Pickleball England.
Identify ways you can support clubs to attract and retain new players. Share best practises with clubs.

•Support new clubs. Having skilled players along to new clubs helps ensure that new clubs start playing the game correctly from the outset, providing coaching to new players takes pressure off the person establishing the new club.

•Ideally you will meet with clubs and play pickleball at those clubs in your county. The purpose is to promote membership of Pickleball England and to promote activities that are relevant to the club and players.

•Share your knowledge of clubs within driving distance and either establish inter club competitions or a regional league.

•Identify opportunities for funding applications for Pickleball England or the clubs within your county. Either take a lead or support the funding applications.

•Identify facilities that might be ideal for starting a pickleball club, with emphasis on areas within your county that do not currently have clubs within 40 miles of another club.

•Reach out to the Active Partnership contact for your region. Make sure that pickleball is listed on their website

•Help to organise events in your region, e.g. pickleball Festival, tournament, fund raising events.

•Provide information on what is going on in your county to the Regional Director so they can put it forward for inclusion in the Pickleball England newsletter. Ideally, we would like to make this quarterly.

•Identify potential advocates/influencers to promote pickleball/support Pickleball England
