Level 1 Coaches
Sean Dickinson - Somerset
Level 1 Qualified
Supportive Coaching for Beginners & Improvers.
I’m a Pickleball England Level 1 Coach providing coaching at Tor Pickleball, supporting beginners and improvers to build solid fundamentals and grow their confidence on court. I seek to make my coaching
style positive, clear and encouraging — helping players understand why shots and strategies work as well as how and when to use them.
I specialise in:
• Fundamentals for beginners
• Improving consistency and shot selection
• Doubles strategy, positioning and tournament preparation
• Player-friendly drills for players to use beyond the coaching sessions
I’m a keen club and tournament player, and an avid student of the game, always looking for fresh ways to improve.
I also serve on the committee of Giraffe House Pickleball Club, giving me a strong understanding of how to guide new players into enjoyable, confident club play.

About Me
I’ve always enjoyed playing rackets sports from Tennis, Badminton, Squash and Table tennis but when I discovered Pickleball in March 2024, I quickly became hooked.
Since then, I’ve been passionate about sharing this sport with others. As a Pickleball England Club Instructor (Level 1), I enjoy introducing new players, coaching those who want to develop their game, and helping players progress in a fun and inclusive environment.
What I offer:
– Taster Sessions: fun introductions to the game, covering the basics and making sure your first experience is enjoyable.
– Supervised beginner sessions: an extra step to cement the rules, positioning, and scoring, or simply as a refresher.
– Beginner to Intermediate Coaching: focus on technique, tactical play, and building confidence on court.
– Friendly Tournaments: informal, competitive sessions to sharpen skills in a supportive setting.
– Coaching available in both English and French, tailored to all skill levels.
Where I Coach
I’m part of the committee and coaching team at “Somerset Pickleball Club” in Taunton, where we run tasters and some structured sessions.
I also offer small group coaching or introduction to Pickleball every Tuesday evening at 8pm for those looking to improve or refresh their game.
IPTPA
Pickleball England also recognise the INTERNATIONAL PICKLEBALL TEACHING PROFESSIONAL ASSOCIATION (IPTPA) qualification. As acknowledged in the Club Instructor workbook some of the concepts in our curriculum are based on IPTPA.
PickleballEngland provides the coaching insurance for IPTPA Coaches listed on the IPTPA website (click button below). Since this is a dynamic list, we can’t list everyone on this page. We also don’t have visibility for which coaches have all the above evidence.
Other Qualifications
If you have another pickleball qualification (including IPTPA) and want to be listed on this page, we do require that you meet the guarantee on the top of the page. We have a low cost conversion option to be recognised by PbE. Email coaching@pickleballengland.org for more information.
