Level 1 Qualified
Tina Lucas
My pickleball journey began after I heard friends talking about the game. They all spoke of it with such passion that my overwhelming curiosity (and serious FOMO) took me to a local taster session where I quickly became hooked! I am now a coach, club member & league player and have enjoyed competing in the UK, Spain and Ireland.
My sporting background is in tennis: as a player, coach, and referee, and I continue to compete at senior county level and on the ITF Masters Tour.
Following my retirement from nursing & teaching in 2021, my lifelong and lifewide passion for education, coaching & sport naturally transitioned onto the tennis, padel & pickleball courts and, nowadays, I love to coach, play & oompete. Most of all though, I have fun on the courts.
I believe that fun is the foundation of learning the game of pickleball and is the thread that runs through all of my sessions. I enjoy meeting beginners and improvers of all ages & abilities, who are looking to advance and develop their skills & knowledge, both for recreational and/or competitive play.
I am based in Berkshire and happy to travel further afield to support you in your pickleball journey.
Jax Sleigh
I have just moved to North East Hampshire/Berkshire/ West Surrey borders. I am an enthusiastic qualified PE teacher for over 34 years, who in the past has been a successful hockey and netball coach for Juniors.
I got bitten by the Pickleball bug just before COVID and decided that it was a lot safer than playing competitive hockey, so decided to swap my hockey stick for my paddle. I loved it so much that I qualified as a IPTPA Level 1 coach in 2023 and also PBE level 1 coach in 2025.
My aim is to introduce pickleball to all and spread the enjoyment through the local community with fun drills and games. I set up and ran Christchurch Dinkers club in Dorset in 2023 and The Pink Ladies sessions as part of Dorset Pickleball Club. I also run sessions for Junior schools, church groups and the U3a.
My sessions are engaging and all inclusive irrespective of age, skill level and ability. Whether you are a beginner or a regular player, I use my wealth of teaching experience to provide tailored sessions for you or your club. I particularly enjoy working with schools and beginners.
Safeguarding trained, Enhanced DBS, Sports First Aid Certificated.
