Level 1 Coaches

Mark Meagrow - West Northants, Daventry
Level 1 Qualified

Mark has a background in semi-professional football and later as a competitive tennis player / coach.

He chanced upon this sport called pickleball on a wet and windy autumnal afternoon and has never looked back.

He firmly believes that with a little guidance and tuition this sport can be enjoyed by everyone of all ages and abilities at various levels.

Mark’s aim is to introduce the sport in a fun unassuming way, portraying the mental and physical benefits that come with it. Mark will then set up a coaching schedule that fits in with the players expectations.

Based at the West Northants Pickleball Club in Daventry Mark is keen to spread the word on Pickleball in and around the Northamptonshire area.

Kate Vincent - Northamptonshire
Level 1 Qualified

Kate is a passionate community leader and experienced coach based in Northamptonshire. She brings a rare blend of expertise to the court, combining a First Class Honours degree in Psychology with over a decade of experience as a QTS-qualified teacher.

As the founder of West Northamptonshire Pickleball, Kate’s coaching philosophy goes beyond the game’s mechanics. She focuses on using pickleball’s social and inclusive nature to promote positive behaviour change and a love for physical activity. Her mission is to use the sport as a tool for well-being, particularly for underserved groups.

Her professional credentials include Level 2 Gym Instructor, Level 3 Personal Trainer, Level 3 Supporting Clients with Long-Term Health Conditions, and a Level 4 Advanced Applied Nutrition qualification. This extensive background allows her to coach with a holistic view of health, making sessions safe, effective, and tailored to individual needs.

Kate’s work has been widely recognised, including the prestigious “Rose of Northamptonshire Award”. She has successfully secured seven grants, including a significant one from Sport England, to grow the sport and fund community projects.

Whether you’re picking up a paddle for the first time or looking to refine your skills, Kate offers a fun, supportive, and expert-led environment to help you on your pickleball journey.

IPTPA

Pickleball England also recognise the INTERNATIONAL PICKLEBALL TEACHING PROFESSIONAL ASSOCIATION (IPTPA) qualification.  As acknowledged in the Club Instructor workbook some of the concepts in our curriculum are based on IPTPA.

PickleballEngland provides the coaching insurance for IPTPA Coaches listed on the IPTPA website (click button below).  Since this is a dynamic list, we can’t list everyone on this page. We also don’t have visibility for which coaches have all the above evidence.

Other Qualifications

If you have another pickleball qualification (including IPTPA) and want to be listed on this page, we do require that you meet the guarantee on the top of the page.  We have a low cost conversion option to be recognised by PbE.  Email coaching@pickleballengland.org for more information.
