Level 1 Coaches

Stuart Dommett - Gloucestershire (Forest of Dean / South Wales / Bristol / South Gloucestershire / North Somerset)
Level 1 Qualified

I only started pickleball in 2024, but how I have loved this game and now bring this passion as a pickleball instructor. The game is one for young and old, I started playing with the U3a, where I am now coaching and helping to develop a safe, inclusive, and fun group.

I want to help players that are starting out in the game or looking to improve. My sessions are available for individuals or small groups. I aim to make them engaging, enjoyable and focused around the development of the people attending.

I want to ensure players build confidence, improve technique, and develop their understanding of the game, their positioning, and strategies.

I live near Chepstow but I am available to coach across North Bristol, South East Wales (Newport, Cwmbran, Chepstow, Caldicot), South Gloucestershire (Forest of Dean, Thornbury, Yate), and North Somerset (Portishead, Clevedon, Nailsea, Backwell, Weston-Super-Mare).

Feel free to reach out to me via email

Ian Walkley - Gloucestershire
Level 1 Qualified

As county representative for Gloucestershire it is my ambition to develop a structure to pickleball at county level. I started pickleball Gloucestershire in March 2025 which has run a couple of tournaments and the first edition of the Gloucestershire pickleball league which was really successful. The natural progression to make coaching available in the county has been a priority for me so I have completed PbE Leaders certificate to be able to introduce new players to pickleball and the PbE level 1 coaching qualification to help clubs, small groups and individuals to develop and improve their skills and game management. I have taught further education – skills based and have coached ladies cricket in previous years.
I currently hold an enhanced DBS check, first aid certificate and safeguarding policies ensuring that I am fully covered by the PbE coaching public liability insurance and well as club insurance.
I look forward to continuing this journey and doing my best for this fantastic sport by offering
quality coaching programmes. I have access to a titan ball machine for quality drills and accurate feeding as well as access to suitable venues. If interested please contact me to check availability – l am happy to travel!

IPTPA

Pickleball England also recognise the INTERNATIONAL PICKLEBALL TEACHING PROFESSIONAL ASSOCIATION (IPTPA) qualification.  As acknowledged in the Club Instructor workbook some of the concepts in our curriculum are based on IPTPA.

PickleballEngland provides the coaching insurance for IPTPA Coaches listed on the IPTPA website (click button below).  Since this is a dynamic list, we can’t list everyone on this page. We also don’t have visibility for which coaches have all the above evidence.

Other Qualifications

If you have another pickleball qualification (including IPTPA) and want to be listed on this page, we do require that you meet the guarantee on the top of the page.  We have a low cost conversion option to be recognised by PbE.  Email coaching@pickleballengland.org for more information.
