Level 1 Coaches

Julia Stevens - Cumbria
Level 1 Qualified

My name is Julia Stevens I am an Advanced player with a ITPTA Level 1 Pickleball coaching qualification along with the Pickleball England Level 1 coaching qualification and a LTA Level 2 Tennis Coaching Qualification.

I have had 10 years of coaching experience. I played tennis when I was younger for approximately 14 years and have recently gone and changed my primary sport to pickleball.

I coached my university tennis team, whilst studying for my BSc sport, Health and exercise science for 3 years.

I am also a Commentator in pickleball and commentated on the Women’s Doubles and mixed doubles finals at the English open 2023. I also commentated at the English Open 2024 and 2025. I also commentated at the European Pickleball Championships 2024 and 2025.

Being a commentator requires me to explain to people at home accurately, precisely and very quickly what is tactically and technically happening. This is what I can offer you on the court side.

I also go into schools, with after school clubs and willing to teach junior sessions.

I hold an Enhanced DBS, First Aid qualification and Safeguarding.

IPTPA

Pickleball England also recognise the INTERNATIONAL PICKLEBALL TEACHING PROFESSIONAL ASSOCIATION (IPTPA) qualification.  As acknowledged in the Club Instructor workbook some of the concepts in our curriculum are based on IPTPA.

PickleballEngland provides the coaching insurance for IPTPA Coaches listed on the IPTPA website (click button below).  Since this is a dynamic list, we can’t list everyone on this page. We also don’t have visibility for which coaches have all the above evidence.

Other Qualifications

If you have another pickleball qualification (including IPTPA) and want to be listed on this page, we do require that you meet the guarantee on the top of the page.  We have a low cost conversion option to be recognised by PbE.  Email coaching@pickleballengland.org for more information.
