Monster Mash Up Tournament, New Malden, Surrey. 27th September 2018

48 Players 3.5 rating or above. 24 Teams, no teams can have played together before and their rating shouldn’t add up to more than 8.0.  Add  Fancy Dress to the mix and you have a recipe for a fun day.  Every player was guaranteed 6 games.

During a live draw the teams were allocated to 4 groups of 6 teams.  Those 6 teams played against each other in a round robin.  The top 3 teams  from each group, based on games won and points scored were allocated to the Dracula tournament in the afternoon.  The bottom 3 teams were allocated to the Frankenstein tournament.  The play in the afternoon was organised so that no teams will have played each other in the morning.  The top teams from the groups earned themselves a bye in the sudden death round, playing the winners from that round in the quarter finals. 

The range of fancy dress was fantastic.  Skeletons, zombies, cobwebs, clowns, zombie cheerleader, a baby, a bumble bee, 118 guy, bacon & eggs, Batman & Robin, Starbucks Coffee & barista.  A fun time was had by all!
