SOUTHERN ENGLAND Singles League
The SE Singles League meets at Maidstone YMCA on the 2nd Saturday of the month (unless there is a major tournament, when it will be moved).
The idea of the Singles League is to give players an opportunity to practise their singles game and to improve their skills in a competitive environment. Often it isn’t possible to have singles play in club sessions due to the number of people waiting for games. Of course singles is also an excellent work out to get in shape!
Our next session is Saturday 20th July.
There is a Ladies and Mens rolling 12 month league with a winner of the night and rolling league standings. At the end of the year, we will have 1st, 2nd and 3rd place medals.
To participate in the league you must be a Pickleballengland registered member and to qualify for a medal need to play 6 times. If you would like to sign up, please email email@example.com
We were lucky to have both the Scottish Open Men’s 4.0+ Singles Finalists playing at our June Singles League night. Everyone thought that the standard of play was very high and it was another great evening finished off with some amazing doubles play.
Over 500 singles games have now been played as part of the League.
On the men’s side, Louis again didn’t drop a game making him the overall winner for the night. Chris & Ed both dropped one game [to Louis], with Chris just pipping Ed for second place on points difference.
On the ladies side Thaddea was the outright winner, blotting Tracy’s otherwise clean copy book! Thaddea’s performance more than justified her taking on some of the men too, winning 2 of 4 of her games!
